Nope. I am taking about the prepaid system itself. They can make recharges available for all usage and price points instead of forcing 1 or 2GB per day. For example, people with less data usage are currently ok with 379 plans from AVOID which gives 6GB data for 84 days. What they can do is keep the validity system for Unlimited Calls/SMS system and keep data as an Add ON as per requirement
That's highly impossible it'll complicate the telecom plans once Again like pre Jio era then we should pay 100 or 200 for 1 GB data that's pathetic .. pay per usuage is failure model with loophole .. calling & data shouldn't be seperate at any cost .. how long it'll be together only it's economic to consumers

Not necessarily, they could simply make 1 paisa universal base Tarif plan wherein per 1 paisa you get either 1 MB of data or 1 min of a voice call or 1 SMS, the choice is of the subscriber. Even VoIP calls on services like whatsapp consume 1 MB per minute of voice call so this 1 paisa for 1 MB or for 1 Min of normal cellular voice call can bring uniformity between mobile operators and VoIP service providers. Also when you give 1p/MB pay as you go for data service, it comes up to 10 Rs/GB which is anyway the floor price that the telcos are looking towards so its not expensive. If this were to be implemented, the user would only need to top up with full talktime vouchers like 100, 200 etc and use that as pay as you go balance for voice, data or text, without complicating things. That way the subscribers would only consume as much data as they really need and not forcefully use more just to consume the entire daily data quota of 1.5 or 2 GB. This would work in both ways, keep spending under control and also keep the network decongested.

I think, if we get good network coverage plus decent speed all the time, it makes sense. When prices were high most of us had good network coverage and speed.

On good side, people will spend less time on forwards and spend time on quality work.

Pay as you go might hurt Telcos ARPU as Indians wont consume more data for much price. Now Jio wants Rs.20 per GB and AVOID for Rs.30 or more as per info submitted to TRAI for floor tariff. We have to pay 6 ps for off net call per minute now.

How it makes sense to charge 200 rs for just 2GB data when we are moving in digital era...

How Poor n middle class ppl gonna afford it who are completely dependent on Mobile data for their work, education n every other purpose.

More than 80% ppl still dont have Access to high speed cable Broadband at home in India.

Making Mobile data expensive like 2G era will take whole india backward only.

JIO says they want every Indian to do Datagiri in Internet world
but Ppl like sunil mittal wants to do only Dadagiri on common man of india by making internet expensive n looting ppl as much as possible

PAYG will not work universally in India, especially after the kind of tariffs seen since 05-Sep-2016 (Commercial Launch of Jio).
Even if PAYG was kept, it may not be the only option provided, there have to be bundled plans as well. Average to High end users will only opt for bundled plans, and not PAYG.
Low to Very-Low end users who opt for PAYG will eventually end up hurting the telcos even more as they would not contribute Rs 300 per month in PAYG terms anyway.

Vodafone had attempted to do this by launching FLEX plans, wherein the FLEX credit may be used for anything - voice/sms/data, but did it work? No, I think it is discontinued now. At least, I cant see it on the website anymore.

If Supreme Court verdict will be against JIO for spectrum part of shared& traded with RCom AGR dues, then JIO might raise data prices upto Rs.10 per GB with immediate effect.
