India’s top telco, Bharti Airtel is now offering 1.5 GB of 3G/4G data at Rs 100 to a some of its postpaid customers as part of a ‘surprise’ offer, a report said on Wednesday. The telco had recently started offering 15 GB of 4G data at cost of 1 GB for its prepaid customers through the myAirtel app.

Airtel has been constantly coming up with freebies after the launch of Reliance Jio where it even offered 1 GB data for Rs 50. The telco has been trying hard to retain its customers, especially some of its ‘valued’ customers by providing them ‘surprise’ offers.

Usually a 1.5 GB data pack costs around Rs 300 for the postapid users, in those terms Airtel’s surprise offer is indeed a cost saver.

The surprise offer has been made available to only a few of the postpaid customers and the validity of the offer is unknown for now. In a similar move earlier, the company had offered 2GB of free cloud storage through its myAirtel app to some of its ‘select’ customers for feedback.

Reliance Jio as part of its postpaid plans is offering 300MB of 4G data with 750MB WiFi data at Rs 149, which comes with unlimited voice calling and free roaming.
