Till 2015-16 times, people underestimated IPTV so all IPTV services shutdown. Now the same people felt IPTV as valuable and demanded it so companies are bringing it back. 🤷
All the content of TV channels is now available on OTT apps at low cost and ad free.

OTT apps were not that popular in 2015-16.

There's another side too. Data wasn't cheaper then. Airtel used to provide V-Fiber which was basically copper cable internet on steroids. I think during that time IPTV was buffering a lot and not rain resistant since copper broadband were prone to disconnection during the rains. Now all these problems solved so they are bring it back.

I think no hassle of dish antenna installation also make some people relaxed who stay in apartments or rental house and not having permission to install anything on the roof.

Yes, Why you need stb when you can stream through single app. Though world wide channels through internet have taken over satellite
Sports Streaming in app with huge viewership for live cricket is still struggling without proper 4k and fps, so we need iptv (without dish) for some rented homes and big apartments complexes/gated communities.
