Delhi saw the highest number of 'very poor' air days in three years, with 11 such days recorded alongside five 'poor' days. In contrast, 'good' air quality days drastically declined, from 11 days in 2022 to just two in 2024.

GRAP Stage-III restrictions, which came into effect Thursday, include a ban on private BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles; switching to online mode for junior classes; staggered government office hours, and prohibition of inter-state buses other than EVs/CNG/BS-VI.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai Tuesday wrote a letter to the Centre seeking clearance for allowing artificial rain in the national Capital. He requested to convene an urgent meeting with experts in IIT Kanpur and the Central government agencies. He also lashed out at the Central government accusing its environment minister of “sleeping over repeated request by the Delhi government to call emergency meet” over alarming pollution scenario in Delhi.

This is a serious issue. Citizens believe that restricting students from attending school and switching to online learning will solve the problem, but the reality is that this is only a partial solution. While I am not saying that this approach is ineffective, it should be applicable across all sectors.

College students, myself included, continue to suffer from pollution due to daily commuting. Although some students have shifted to online learning, many schools are not allowing teachers to conduct classes from home. Additionally, some schools remain open for teachers, students, and staff, failing to comply with government orders. We are all human beings, nd these kind of differences are not good and beneficial.

This kind of decision are completely rubbish closing schools in everything are solution for every problem as if teachers are not human beings or students above 12th are imune to smog what about the teachers who do online classes who will provide data to them or even the system to conduct class or as if smog is not there at there home as there homes are outside ncr i think
Instead of doing politics they should come together to solve problem but they will not do that
