Aaqib Javed, the former Pakistan fast
bowler, who was contacted by the
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) with a
proposal to take over as the bowling
coach of the national side, has
reportedly turned down the offer.
Javed joined Lahore Qalandars, the
Pakistan Super League franchise, as
the director of their cricket operations,
and wants to focus on the same
without too many distractions.
Forfeiting the post of United Arab
Emirates' head coach in April earlier
this year, Javed said he may be
interested in consulting, but will not
take up a full-time role.
"I have recently joined Lahore
Qalandars and started working from
last Friday only, so it's not possible for
me to take any other job," Javed was
quoted saying by ESPNCricinfo on
Monday (June 6). "But I may be open
for a short-term coaching consultant
job after the second edition of PSL, not
as full-time [coach]."
