I think this is for first time use.The AC automatically select the last set temperature. For e.g. when I stop the AC at 25 deg.Next time it start at 25 deg only.
My AC also remembers last set temp. when i turn it Off/On.

After reading this news i thought some brand ACs doesn't remember hence this addition. But now unsure what exactly it is. o_O

bro its not about remembering the last temp....its like when ever u go/or want too go below 24 deg u wont be able too go its like if u put on 18 deg it will automatically come back too minimum temp of 24 deg thats what i have seen in many offices/ shops do as ur bill will come less

I was saying the same thing but the tweet in post 7 creates confusion.

Bros, Please read the articles once again. It is very clearly said that the ACs would come with temperature settings in the range of 24° to 26°. It means that's the minimum and maximum you can set.

let's make one thing clear. Even if passed, the proposal will not give the government sweeping powers to decide how cool our rooms can be.

As India's minister of state for power, RK Singh, has clarified, "A default setting means that when you start the air conditioner, it will start at 24 degree Celsius setting, however, you can change the setting to whatever temperature you want."

Articles worded it wrong. The entire topic is only about the Default temperature, not about the minimum and maximum. They were only talking about finalizing the default temperature setting between 24 to 26.

exactly bro...and also there is no business with word "starting" it's all about DEFAULT (I think AUTO in mode selection is the correct word/option) setting.
