Chinese handset maker ZTE has launched two 3G data cards in India. First up, we have the high-end data card. This one offers speed up to 14.4Mbps and is priced at Rs. 2,250. The data card can also work as a Wi-Fi hotspot. All you need to do is plug it into a USB charger and the connectivity can be shared between five machines. It also works as a regular data card with a single laptop or desktop.

The other data card is priced at Rs. 1,799 and offers speeds up to 7.2Mbps. This data card however cannot be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Yuan Kang, director terminals business, ZTE India said, "We are excited to enter the Indian open market with our first two products and we hope to introduce more devices in the future. India is an important market for ZTE and this is our first step to enter the open market and cater to the needs of the masses with ZTE's innovative products.”

This is the first time that ZTE will enter the Indian market with its own brand of data cards. In the past they have sold data cards to Indian telecom operators who rebrand it and sell it to consumers locally.

If you are a data card user in India, you have one from MTS, Reliance or Tata DoCoMo to name a few.
