Among the masses of smartphones that have been designed for selfies, ZTE today added one more to that long list. The company announced an all-new ZTE Blade S7 that packs in a 13 MP front-facing camera, to help users get flawless selfies.
While it appears that ZTE has worked on the S7’s design, there’s really not much to speak about apart from the sandwiched metal frame. There is also that 13 MP camera on the back that sits flush with the rest of the body, event with its laser assisted autofocus mechanism on board.
Coming to the hardware specifications, the ZTE Blade S7 packs in two 13 MP cameras – the front, and the rear which also includes a laser auto focus system. Both of them come with an LED flash (even the one on the front) to ensure that it clicks good selfies in low light conditions. And we also get Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF), which should make it quick at locking focus.
The device has a 5 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Hiding behind that, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC coupled with 3 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
The handset packs in the usual connectivity options, including 4G bands and will be available in Lemon Green, Rose Gold, Diamond White and Space Grey.
What you also get is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop inside, along with ZTE’s custom MiFavor 3.2 skinning. In addition are features such as gesture controls and shake to activate.
As you may have noticed, there’s plenty onboard this selfie-conscious smartphone, but there’s more. ZTE has even included a fingerprint scanner that should play well with future Android updates (Marshmallow).
As of now we do know that the handset will go on sale in Thailand, but ZTE has plans to push out the same in other Asia-Pacific markets as well.
