After Google has released Android Lollipop, the company is now focusing on revamping the apps for a more fresher look to suit Android’s new ‘Material Design’.

The latest in the list is YouTube.
A few users had got the chance to lay their hands on the new YouTube app, but now the update has been made official.

YouTube’s version 6.0 has added different menu colors along with a more soft and easy effect. The menu bar slides from the left. Colors are lighter and are aesthetically pleasing. It complements then newly received Android Lollipop update.

It must be pointed out that this is the first major design change the app has received in the past year.

Another addition to the update is the advanced search filters. This feature makes it easier for users to find the right video from YouTube’s massive video collection. Users can search by captions, HD quality videos, etc., the same way we can in the desktop version.

YouTube has also announcedoffline-video viewing feature for mobile phone users in India. This will let mobile phone users take a video offline, using either Wi-fi or data plan and this video will be available for unlimited viewing for the next 48 hours.

The main idea behind this move is to help Indian mobile users curb their mobile data charges while streaming YouTube videos on their data connection.
