A price for the spanking new Xolo X1000 has just been revealed, the device being the one that was recently touted to be the fastest smartphone (with Intel inside, no doubt) by the manufacturer itself. The only thing that’s hard to figure out about this launch is why it was decided March 14 would be a good day to release it. It’s not like the company had the same reserved billboard space as LG, after all.
Anyway, the point is that the handset has finally arrived, with a 2GHz Intel Atom processor to boot. The CPU in question is the Z2480 chip with Hyper Threading technology. The processor is explained to be supported by a 400MHz GPU which can power 1080p video encoding and playback as well as deliver ‘realistic 3D’ visuals. With regards to the last mentioned, the manufacturer has noted that the touchscreen stretching through 4.7 inches is a 2.5D edge curved glass display, reminding us of the Optimus G Pro.
The phone works on Android Ice Cream Sandwich and accommodates 1GB RAM. And if the specified internal memory of 8GB happens to fall short of hoarding needs, users can always fall back on the microSD card for an expansion of up to 32GB. The previous report speculating that the sensor could not be higher than 16MP turned out to be right. There’s an 8MP main lens and a 1.3MP one on the front for making video calls. Lastly, the embedded 1900mAh battery can keep the handset for up to 9.5 hours of talk time or 5 hours of browsing on 3G networks.
For those interested in laying hands on the Intel Xolo X1000, only Flipkart appears to have it up for sale at present. But we’re assuming other sellers will start stocking it soon enough.
