New Delhi: Xiaomi has reported that it has broken its own flash-sale record by selling more than two million phones in its 12-hour 'Mi Fan Festival'.
The Mi Fan Festival marked the Chinese smartphone maker's fifth anniversary on April 8 in which it also sold 38,000 televisions, 200,000 fitness bands and 247,000 power strips.
As Re/code notes, a surge in sales of other products is an indication of Xiaomi's efforts to expand beyond its core business. Apart from wearables and other consumer devices, the company is also testing services, including a mobile wallet.
Xiaomi generated roughly $335 million in revenue under the 12-hour sale as this year it sold devices in more markets including Malaysia, India, and Indonesia.
Last year Xiaomi sold 61 million smartphones and generated revenue of $11.98 billion, becoming the No. 3 smartphone player in the world and top brand in China.
