Chinese tech major, Xiaomi has finally
made an official announcement
regarding the launch of its much
anticipated Redmi Note phablet in
India. After teasing the device via
social networking site Facebook, the
company, dubbed as 'China's Apple'
has now announced that the said
device will be launching on November
24 in India. Xiaomi is busy sending out
media invites for the launch event
even as we speak. The invite clearly
mentions that the Xiaomi Redmi Note
will be officially launched on the
aforementioned date.
As far as the expected pricing of the
device is concerned, well, Xiaomi has
been known to change the prices at the
last moment as it did with its previous
launch, the Redmi 1S. The Redmi 1S
was touted to be launched at a price of
Rs. 6,999 however upon launch it was
priced at Rs. 5,999. As of now, Xiaomi
has hinted that the Redmi Note will be
priced at Rs. 9,999, however, it won't
be a surprise if the company launches
the device at a lower price tag.
With that said, the company is
expected to start selling the Redmi Note
via its flash sale mode exclusively
through Flipkart beginning December
2.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note features a 5.5-
inch IPS-LCD display with a 720x1280
pixels resolution. It is powered by a
1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK6592
SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes
with 8GB of internal storage
expandable up to 32GB via microSD
card. It sports a 13MP rear autofocus
camera with LED flash and a 5MP
front-facing shooter. The dual-SIM
device runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-
of-the-box with the company's MIUI v5
skin on top. It is backed by a 3100mAh
battery.
