A banner spotted on Flipkart reveals that the Redmi Note 4 will soon get the Android Nougat update. Until now, the smartphone is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is over a year old. This will definitely be a great news for the Redmi Note 4 users and the Xiaomi fans as the smartphone have created records in terms of its sales in the country.

It will still be months before Nougat update actually arrives in India for Note 4. They will possibly release beta version by the end of August and then atleast wait a couple of months for stable update.

Xiaomi starts rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Redmi Note 4 users in India

Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to Redmi Note 4 users. The Android 7.0 Nougat update comes with MIUI version 8.5.4.0, and includes the July Android security patch.

The Redmi Note 4 is also scheduled to get the next major MIUI update – MIUI 9 – starting today, for users in China. International users can download the MIUI 9 beta ROM here, if you’re so inclined.

Earlier today, Xiaomi announced that the Redmi Note 4 was the best-selling phone in India, and the company has sold over 5 million devices of the same.

The MIUI 8.5.4.0 update is 1.3 GB in size, so make sure you’re on Wi-Fi or a liberal data plan. The OTA update is rolling out in phases, and not everyone has received it yet.

Yes it is Nougat but it has no real features associated with Nougat and a lot of bugs as well. The global beta version for MIUI 9 is genuine Nougat with split screen, screen recorder feature etc and maybe wuthin a month still left for stable global version to come out. [emoji5]
