Xiaomi today conducted the fifth sale for its Redmi Note 4 smartphone on Flipkart and Mi.com as well. The company recently announced that it sold 250,000 units of the Redmi Note 4 in just ten minutes during its first flash sale. Xiaomi also plans to sell as many as 7 million units of the smartphone in India this year. To add to the excitement, Xiaomi has finally announced the availability of the Redmi Note 4 matte black edition.

Xiaomi will hold the next sale for the Redmi Note 4 on March 1 where the matte black variant will be available for the first time. The sale will begin at 12:00PM on both Flipkart and Mi.com. In essence, buyers will be able to choose from three color variants — gold, dark grey and matte black.

The Redmi Note 4 is the successor to the popular Redmi Note 3. In addition to the under the hood changes, Xiaomi has made slight tweaks to the overall design, which includes the addition of a 2.5D curved glass on top of the display. Other changes include relocated speaker grille and tapered edges that give the illusion of a slimmer profile.

Coming to the specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, and it is available in three variants — 32GB with 2GB RAM variant, 32GB with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB with 4GB of RAM. The built-in storage on the smartphone can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
At the heart of the smartphone runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports an improved 13-megapixel camera at the back, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture up front.

The Redmi Note 4 is powered by a 4,100mAh battery, which is a slight upgrade from the 4,050mAh battery in the Redmi Note 3. This upgrade is accompanied by the new 14nm Snapdragon SoC, which Xiaomi claims improves the battery performance by as much as 25 percent. The connectivity options offered by the smartphone include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The Redmi Note 4 also comes with a fingerprint scanner which is located on the back below the camera, just like the Redmi Note 3. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8. Xiaomi has promised Android Nougat update soon and it has already rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat preview for its users.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 price

The lowest variant with 2GB RAM plus 32GB internal storage is priced at Rs 9,999, the 3GB RAM plus 32GB storage variant at Rs 10,999 and the 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage variant at Rs 12,999.
