Xiaomi just sent out invites for the inauguration of its first Mi Home store in India in Bengaluru, as it had promised last year . Xiaomi’s Mi Home store will be offering a range of products such as portable speakers, power banks, headphones, Mi Band, Mi Air Purifier and more, as mentioned in the invite, but it is not clear if it will sell smartphones at the launch.

Chinese handset maker Xiaomi said that it will open 100 Mi Home stores across India in the next two years to strengthen its offline retail strategy in the country. It has opened its first ever Mi Home store in Bengaluru on Thursday. The Mi Home store was launched on Thursday, but it will only open to customers on Saturday, May 20, at 9am IST.
The company already sells devices through its own online story, and through its partnerships with ecommerce and offline retailers and distributors.
The company, in a statement, said that its new Mi Home stores will be located in other metro cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. Select Mi Home stores will also have an additional zone where fans can experience the larger Xiaomi portfolio.
Xiaomi claims to cross Rs 5 crore revenue on Mi Home Store opening
Xiaomi has claimed to generate Rs 5 crore worth of in sales revenue within 12 hours of sales via Mi Home store in Bengaluru on May 20. According to the company, over 10,000 Mi Fans attended the opening day at Mi Home store.
Xiaomi attributes a large part of its revenue to the sales of smartphones like Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 4. Xiaomi Redmi 4 smartphone was first made available at Mi Home store. It will go on sale online on mi.com and Amazon on May 23 from 12PM. Other devices include audio accessories, Mi VR Play, Mi Air Purifier 2, Mi Router 3C and Mi Band 2.
