Xiaomi Mi Community goes live in India, starts taking registrations for Mi Max event

After making the beta site live on June 14 with limited testers, Xiaomi has now opened up its forum for everyone. Called Mi Community, it is Xiaomi’s dedicated forum for its fans in India. The community will let fans to interact with other users, participate in contests, share their feedback about Xiaomi smartphones, MIUI and more. The Mi Community also has tips and tricks, flashing guide and a section to share photos taken from Xiaomi smartphone. Select Xiaomi fans also get a chance to attend launch events across India.

Now that the Xiaomi Mi Community is live, interested users can visit c.mi.com to register. Besides making the site live for everyone, Xiaomi has also started taking registrations for the Mi Max event, which is set to take place in New Delhi on June 30. The registration window will be open till 8PM IST, June 23.

Xiaomi is also offering limited invites and a goody bag with a surprise gift for those attending the event. That’s not all; lucky fans who share the event registration link on Facebook would also be eligible for a Royal Package for the launch event, which will include to and fro airfare, a VIP seat at the launch event and an all-inclusive hotel stay too.


Xiaomi Mi Max specifications, features:

The phablet flaunts a 6.44-inch full HD (1080p) display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The phablet is offered in three variants – 32GB storage + 3GB of RAM powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 SoC, 64GB storage + 3GB of RAM and 128GB storage + 4GB of RAM powered by Snapdragon 652 SoC. Recently, a variant with 16GB onboard storage + 2GB of RAM also surfaced online.

In the photography department, the phablet sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash, and 5-megapixel selfie camera. Together with a 4,850mAh battery and Quick Charge support, the phablet also comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.

While details on pricing are scarce at the moment, in China, the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants are priced at Rs 15,300, Rs 17,500 and Rs 20,500, respectively. It remains to be seen how aggressive Xiaomi can get with the India pricing.
