Xiaomi has officially announced the next version of its Mi TV Box and no, it’s not the Mi Box 4, instead it is called the Mi Box 3s. The new set-top-box is priced at RMB 299, which is approximately Rs 2,950. Xiaomi has also launched the ‘Mi Box 3C’, which is priced at RMB 199, which is approximately Rs 1,970. The Xiaomi Mi Box 3S and 3C will go on sale starting November 22 in China.
Talking about the design, both the Xiaomi Mi Box 3s and Mi Box 3c are pretty much similar to each other. Both the devices feature a round shell with a matte finish texture with a MI logo on top. Additionally, both the TV Boxes also feature an AV interface, an HDMI interface, a USB port, and a power connector. The Mi Box 3s looks similar to its predecessor.
One of the talking points of the two set-top-boxes is their AI feature. They come with what the company calls PatchWall puzzle system with Mi Brain deep learning technology. The AI is said to continuously monitor the user’s watching habits, and taking into account movie reviews and commentaries, recommend different types of content. As per reports, both set-top-boxes offer content from various video streaming sites like Tencent, Youku, Iqiyi and Sohu to name a few.
The device also comes with new and improved remote control which is specially designed for PatchWall puzzle wall system design. The touch key on top can browse through content, the new remote also helps you achieve rapid slide as mobile phone touch. The new remote uses the standard AAA batteries and the company claims it to be more durable.

The Mi Box 3S is the high-end variant. It comes with 2GB of RAM, and is powered by a quad-core processor with four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 2GHz. It comes with 8GB of onboard storage. The device supports 4K videos at 60fps along with HDR. The Mi Box 3S supports Dolby DTS sound system, and comes with connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 2.4/5GHz dual-band, and Bluetooth 4.1.

The Mi Box 3C is a toned down version of the Mi Box 3S. It features an Amlogic S905 SoC with quad-core ARM Cortex A53 CPUs, and 1GB of RAM combined with 4GB of inbuilt memory. The Mi Box 3C supports 4K videos at 60fps but HDR support is missing. Just like the Mi Box 3s, the Mi Box 3sc also supports Dolby DTS audio and only supports the traditional HDMI 2.0. On the connectivity front, it comes with a USB 2.0 input, AV port, and an HDMI output, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 2.4 / 5GHz dual-band and Bluetooth 4.1.
