There'll be a pro variant too.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 earlier this week, making for a solid upgrade in theory over the standard Mi 10. The Mi 10 Pro was also released earlier this year, but Xiaomi didn’t mention a Mi 11 Pro at Tuesday’s launch event.

Now, Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has suggested that a Mi 11 Pro is indeed coming. More specifically, the leaker alleges that the Pro variant has “exactly the same” screen specs as the standard model. Check out the screenshot below.

And a lite as well!

Xiaomi looks to be prepping a more affordable phone in the Mi 11 series, but unlike its flagship cousin, the new model might not come with 5G connectivity. The phone was recently listed on the FCC website with model number M2101K9AG. Folks over at XDA Developers were able to cross-reference the IMEIs in the filing to reveal that the phone will be called the Mi 11 Lite.

This one might soon launch as Poco F2. The model number is similar and Anuj Sharma was also teasing it.

There'll be a Lite?

Xiaomi is reportedly planning a warm send-off for the Mi 10 series with a Snapdragon 870-powered model, but the company’s also reportedly set to add to its newer device lines. Per a leak from Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is readying a new mid-ranger with an unannounced Snapdragon 700 series chipset.

The post to Weibo suggests the phone will sport an OLED display, a 64MP primary camera, and 5x zoom. The leaker also mentions the Snapdragon SM7350 — a model number yet to be used by Qualcomm on any current hardware. However, it’s understandable that if the Snapdragon 765 wore the SM7250 tag, this chipset is the next model in the line. There’s no official word on what Qualcomm will call this chip, but reliable WinFuture journalist Roland Quandt previously claimed that it’s the Snapdragon 775.

Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything is renowned for his gadget durability tests and teardowns, so it's not surprising to hear that he has a track record of trying to bust up Xiaomi phones. Said record brings up the obvious trends: cheaper phones aren't as durable as those towards the mid- to high-end. So, how will the Mi 11 fare? Not too bad, for the sake of brevity.
  • The phone, in its TrimsGlass variants, is stocked with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and a frosted glass panel held together with a metal chassis. The rear cameras are protected with clear glass, presumably more Victus.
  • As with almost every other type of glass, the display glass scratches at around level 6 of the Mohs mineral hardness scale. Don't rub sand onto it.
  • Nelson put his lighter flame to the OLED display for a full 20 seconds before pulling it back. By that time, the burnt diodes were able to recover somewhat, but have clearly been damaged beyond being able to return to normal.
  • For the bend test, the phone creaked slightly, but if there was any damage, it certainly wasn't visible
