For Xiaomi, 2016 has been all about experiments, ranging from bezel-less smartphone to a plethora of IoT devices. Though, Xiaomi also has a relatively big portfolio of mobile accessories, and these include wearables and power banks among other. While the company extensively expanded its Mi Home portfolio, the company didn’t really aggressively pushed its mobile accessories this year. Now, Xiaomi is concluding with what could possibly last launch of this year with a new power bank. Called the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank, it is available in China for 149 Yuan, which is approximately Rs 1,400. The power bank is as of now, available in China and will go on sale starting December 19. However, there is no word whether the power bank will be launched in other markets.

The 20,000mAh Xiaomi Mi Mobile Power Bank 2 is successor to the 20,000mAh Xiaomi Mi power bank, which the company had launched in November last year. The new power bank, as reported by Gizmochina, is very much identical to the 20,000mAh Power Bank in terms of looks and design. The new power bank has a more narrow build as compared to the first-generation 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank. The power bank comes with a slightly increased thickness of 2.1mm. The surface has some kind of textured design on top, which gives the power bank a good grip and save it from dropping. As of now, the device is available in white color only.

In terms of specifications, the 20,000mAh Mi Mobile Power Bank 2 is made out of high density lithium-polymer batteries and the company claims that it also comes with performance improvement. Additionally, the device also comes with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The single port output has been raised to 5V / 2.4A from the previous 5V / 2A. There are also output ratings of 9V/2A and 12V / 1.5A. The power bank comes with two USB ports, allowing you to charge two different devices at the same time.

The company claims that the power bank can fully charge a Xiaomi Max, which comes with 4,850mAh battery, in just 2.5 hours. The latest power bank can also be used to charge the Mi Band 2 to name a few others. The 20,000mAh Mi Mobile Power Bank 2 comes with dual-port output which, just liked its predecessor remains 5V / 3.6A  rating and is compatible with most mobile phones, tablets and also extends support to the latest Apple MacBook.

In comparison, the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank (first-generation), was launched at a price of Rs 1,699 in India. It is also equipped with rapid charging feature that can charge the Power Bank to 11,000mAh in three hours and full charge in seven hours. To put the battery capacity to perspective, the Mi Power Bank can charge the Mi 5 with 3,000mAh battery more than six times. It can also charge an Apple MacBook with USB Type-C port.

Xiaomi’s existing line-up Mi Power Bank lineup which includes 20,000mAh, 16,000mAh, 10,400mAh, 10,000mAh and 5,000mAh variants.
