WWE Live Event Results
1/8/16
Houston, TX

Alberto Del Rio came out and berated Houston. He then called John Cena a perro because he can’t fight him. While Del Rio was talking, the arena went black and Y2J’s music hit. Jericho said he has a long history in Houston.

He stole Del Rio’s mic and had fun with the crowd. He exclaimed he had two mics and could talk into two microphones at once, while actually talking into the two microphones at once. Del Rio got mad and Y2J said that Cena couldn’t make it but he was more than happy to fill in for John and challenge Del Rio.

1). Chris Jericho defeated Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match.

This was a really good match. Jericho energized the crowd and pumped them up. Very exciting opener.

*Quick note, Del Rio actually took Sign Guy’s Del Rio sign and ripped it up in the middle of the ring. The Sign Guy looked very sad. Poor guy.

Stardust came out next, followed by Titus O’Neil.

2). Titus O’Neil defeated Stardust with Clash of the Titus

Pretty decent match. Stardust got up on the railing (like actually jumped and stood on it) and started air-humping before the match started. Houston loved Titus.

Rusev and Lana came out next. Lana insulted our sports teams again as Rusev took the mic. He said that he hates American football but if there was one team that he had to like, he’d choose the Dallas Cowboys. This garnered massive boos. After they stopped insulting everyone, Rusev just said to bring out his opponent tonight.

Ryback is his opponent. I noticed a lot of kids cheering for Ryback, mostly but it seemed everyone loved him. A lot of Feed Me More chants started throughout the match.

3). Ryback defeated Rusev with the Shell-Shocked.

I miss it when Rusev was an undefeatable monster. Oh well.

The One Man Band, BAYBAY came out next. Mixed reaction there, sadly. There were quite a few Slater fans, though. I was one of them. R-Truth then came out and started his usual pre-match rap. The crowd ate it up.

Truth danced for the crowd and got cheered. Slater tried dancing for the crowd and got booed. Houston wanted a dance-off but after teasing, Slater said, “well, you aren’t getting one!”, then proceeded to attack Truth.

4). R-Truth defeated Heath Slater

Heath would’ve won but he grabbed the second rope and the referee caught him. Truth reversed the pin and picked up the win.

Up next, Los Matadores. They came out to absolutely no reaction, with a few boos in there. They were heels. (When did they even turn? I totally forgot they existed.) Kalisto came out but with no partner. He stopped mid-ramp and introduced his partner: El Torito. Yes.

5). Kalisto & El Torito defeated Los Doritos

El Torito was really, really fun to watch. He hit the Bronco Buster on one of the Doritos and he was really fast and entertaining.

Intermission

WWE returns to Houston for SmackDown! SD! will be the SD after WrestleMania so that oughta be fun.

JoJo hyped up the crowd post-intermission. She said we are really gonna like this next match.

Sheamus came out to massive applause, but the applause was only because the crowd knew Brock was coming out next. Brock got massive cheers.

6). Brock Lesnar defeated Sheamus

Very physical and Sheamus actually got some good offense in. Brock took three Brogue Kicks before finally falling over. He also took two White Noises. Brock German Suplex’d Sheamus about ten times. Bork actually started bleeding as well.

Next up was the Divas match. Summer Bae was the guest referee.

7). Brie Bella defeated Tamina with the Bella Buster

Brie got a lot of cheers and honestly, Brie is growing on me. She’s adorable and really tiny in person. Tamina is vicious and rough, which was cool to see. Nothing too eventful happened though. The match lasted around four minutes. Mehhh.

The Gorgeous One is out next. Funny thing, while Breeze was on his way to the ramp, his iPhone crapped out on him. It said “Poor Connection.” Lot of uggos in Houston booing him. His opponent was… *wait for it*

DOLPH ZIGGLER! Shocker.

8). Dolph Ziggler defeated Tyler Breeze

Breeze should’ve won.

The main event was next. KO came out and was met with positive reception from men but was booed by pretty much everyone else. He also got into it with some fans and got in their face which was pretty cool. Dean Ambrose comes out to massive cheers.

9). Dean Ambrose (c) retained over Kevin Owens in a street fight after a Dirty Deeds on a piece of broken table and a chair.

The crowd was pro-Ambrose the entire night. Really good and entertaining match. Owens was heeling it up. Awesome night.

Overall, it was an entertaining event. Pretty entertaining matches. It focused more on entertainment instead of wrestling but I had fun.
