Papua New Guinea have withdrawn from the upcoming Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier after multiple positive COVID-positive tests within the playing group.
PNG were due to face Group A opponents West Indies on the tournament’s opening day in Zimbabwe.
There will be no replacement for PNG in the Group, which will now consist of four teams, with the West Indies joined by Sri Lanka, Ireland and the Netherlands.

The nine-nation qualification tournament will be held in Harare from 21 November until 5 December, with three places at the 2022 World Cup up for grabs.
Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and West Indies will compete in Group A in Harare, with Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, USA and hosts Zimbabwe in Group B. Papua New Guinea have unfortunately withdrawn from the tournament after a Covid-19 outbreak in the squad during pre-flight quarantine prevented them from travelling.
West Indies and Pakistan are comfortably the top two ranked sides in the competition according to the latest ICC Women’s ODI Rankings.
