Vodafone Idea is being driven to bankruptcy.

A company that is worth only Rs 11,000 cr and is making thousands of crores of losses every year is being directed to pay Rs 55,000 cr. GAIL India has been asked to pay Rs 1.7 lakh crore  Oil India, an oil producer, has been asked to pay Rs 44,000 cr.

None of these companies can pay these amounts without shutting down entirely. So why are they being forced to pay?

I hope you are joking. Shutting down these three companies is going to be good for the Indian economy? Really? Think of the lakhs of jobs lost and lakhs of crores of tax that these companies pay (other than this amount)

coz the govt is also broke and needs money to revive economy.

Because Modi government is promoting ambani companies or private companies by sacrificing our well established govt companies

The fact is that the telecom license says -- you have to pay x% of your revenue. But logic says that you pay telecom revenue share only on telecom revenue, not on petroleum revenue or crude oil sales.

That is what common sense and logic is for. Normally, it is the bureaucrats who kill companies through red tape, and it is the judges who bring in common sense and logic. Here, it is the reverse.

Kissi bhi issue ki deeply knowledge ke without koi reply nahi karna chahiye, ye agr koi gvot ya supreme Court ki mistake ya force nahi hai, ye in companies ka pending jo unko bahot pehle de dena chahiye tha jo inhone nhi diya aur aaj yd sympathy gain karne ki soch rahe hai aur kuch log sympathy de bhi rahe hai, aap sabh ko kya lagta hai ki govt sirf inhi sabh ke bharose hai economy revival ke liye, ye aap ki soch ho sakte hai govt ki nahi hai

It is like you take a shop on rent, and you promise the owner of the shop that you will give him 15% of the revenue.

So you make 1 lakh revenue from the shop in the 1st year and you give the owner Rs 15,000.

Now the owner of the shop says -- You also have 100 other shops from which you are making 10 cr. So now pay me 15% of that, which is 1.5 cr!!!

Common sense says that the landlord [DoT] should be paid a share of the revenue from the shop which belongs to him, not from other shops [petroleum, super market etc] which have nothing to do with him.

Completely agree (with the idiocy of the verdict only). Can't believe non-telecom sectors are also ordered to pay up just because they created their own infra for internal purposes.
This is foolish. Only telecom companies who haven't paid dues in 2 decades should be made to pay up, not other sectors.

Before JIO everything is fine I assume ..and all company believed they could handle even losses and sustain in the industry as people were used for the prices that are fixed by company...But when JIO came with Free of cost then suddenly all other company had to reduce the price ....or else they know the they would loose subscribers and with people used for lower prices , company's can't handle losses .

I am amazed how much sympathy we all have to those telecom companies. They looted us for more than a decade. Does anyone remember the price at which 1GB 2G data was sold ? Then there is 2G scam, they made lakhs of crores. Even 3G data, they were charging ₹280 for 4GB per month. Airtel, Voda and Idea, they were together in it. AVI companies killed a lot of small companies like Aircel so that they can control the telecom market.

Now a new goon is replacing the old one. That is all. In the end, we will lose our hard-earned money. No matter it is AVI or a new player.
