Vodafone India, the country's second largest telco, has rolled out a 3G/4G data pack in India to offer 1 GB data at Rs 55 for prepaid customers, according to a report published. In order to get the benefit, Vodafone customers will be required to recharge with an upfront amount of Rs 1501 where they’d get 15 GB of data for that particular month.

The reduced data tariff will be valid on the subsequent recharges for next 12 months. Validity for each recharge would be one month.
The report said that Vodafone is offering 250% more data in comparison to Airtel and Idea Cellular, which are offering around 6 GB of data for the same upfront fee.

Vodafone is currently charging Rs 1499 for 15 GB monthly data, and which makes the latest offer a cost saver. According to the report, the data is available in only few circles for prepaid customers including Kolkata.

Idea Cellular was the first one to introduce a long term data plan for prepaid customers where users could get 6 GB of 3G or 4G data for Rs 1498 and subsequently at Rs 51 per GB.

A week ago, Airtel had also started offering 15 GB of 4G at the cost of 1GB data to its prepaid customers through the myAirtel app.
