As you know star sports shows "Virat go Getter", Supersports shows "kohli softened up" in the rainwashed 3rd ODIS.

The South Africans are having a gala time thrashing the World champions in front of the home crowd and the local broadcaster - SuperSport didn't shy away from poking fun at the lackluster MS Dhoni brigade.

After the glory days at home, Team India hit a rock bottom ever since their arrival in South Africa. Dhoni & co were humiliated and bullied in all departments of the game.

Bruised ribs and fingers, dented helmets, cart-wheeling stumps, hurt egos and broken spirits - the South African speedsters became a nightmare for Indian batsmen in the three-match ODI series.

If the humiliation on the field was not enough, the local broadcaster - SuperSport - ensured that the Indian camp continued to be in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.

According to Wisden India, the channel replayed the footage of India's star batsman Virat Kohli being struck in the ribs during the 1st DOI at the Wanderers.

The footage was juxtaposed by another stinging video that showcased Kohli holding an ice-pack to his body in the changing room while repeatedly rehearsing the pull shot in slow-motion during a net session before the game.

In what seemed like rubbing salt to the wounds, the channel broadcasted the footage with a caption that read: "Kohli - softened up."

The footage was re-screened during SuperSport's live coverage of the eventually abandoned 3rd ODI at the Centurion on Wednesday. This reportedly irked the Indian camp led by coach Duncan Fletcher.

The SuperSport official was reportedly summoned to the Indian dressing room during the innings interval and an explanation was demanded. However, the Indian camp refuted the charges.

Team India's on tour media manager revealed that, "Once rain stopped play we did meet the producer of Supersport but it was for discussing something else and not the clip shown of Virat."

On the other hand, SuperSport has defended its stance on running the footage.

Well it's not really wrong to run such a video, after all it was not created but it happened for real. So, what really irked the Indian camp that forced them to summon the SuperSport official?

I reckon it was all fun and games as far as SuperSport were concerned who just saw an interesting story in the footage. But, the incident has surely turned up the heat ahead of the two-match Test series between the two teams.

I wonder if this would actually push the Indian batsmen, in particular, to come out shining in the upcoming Test series or the Proteas will wipe them out again.
