Virat Kohli and other cricketers anguished by Uri terror attack

IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla, former cricketers Virender Sehwag, and Mohammad Kaif expressed their unhappiness through tweets.

Current and former cricketers have condemned and criticized the terrorist attack on the Indian army which killed 17 and injured 19 soldiers.

The nation mourned the loss of its brave soldiers. This attack has infuriated many and the sadness and anger was clearly visible yesterday in the social media. Many demanded a strong retaliation as a method of teaching those terrorists a lesson who seem to be taking clear advantage of India’s decency and diplomatic approach.

Current and former cricketers also did not hold them back and strongly opposed the cowardly act by the terrorists. India’s Test captain Virat Kohli was clearly dejected. Virat said that images from Uri ‘filled him up with emotions he can’t explain’

Virender Sehwag, who is very active on Twitter, wrote that it was painful to see the soldiers lose their life.

Other prominent names like Gautam Gambhir, Mohammad Kaif and Manoj Tiwary also raised their voice against the attack and paid his respect to the martyrs.

The four terrorists, who attacked at 4am on Sunday, were gunned down by the Army personnel after a three-hour long gunbattle. The Army said its initial findings suggested that the terrorists belonged to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad and had come from across the LoC. Four AK-47 rifles, grenade launchers, a large number of grenades and food with Pakistani markings found in search ops support this fact.
