UCWeb, at an event in Mumbai launched its new UC Browser and also announced a strategic content partnership with Colors TV. The new browser will offer direct news feeds and will be powered by its big-data technology.
After being what appeared to be a “Trending Partner” for Colors TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, UCWeb made the partnership official with a vision to offer ‘digitised entertainment’ and make use of the strengths of volume and power that come with the web browser.
As for the partnership, it will center around four main shows, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, 24, Big Boss, and Comedy Nights Live. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa fans will now have access to an exclusive fan zone via the homepage on the browser that will deliver behind the scenes content. Host Manish Paul will also be adding to the exclusivity by signing up to write an exclusive blog for the show. As for 24, the show will have its very own game hosted on the 9Apps app store. With Big Boss season 10, UC Browser users will have access to behind the scenes footage and even be able to choose the participants of the show.
Robert Bu, General Manager, UCWeb India said, “Our partnership with Colors is unique in its own way. The partnership seeks to build long term engagement for the content on Colors TV through multiple platforms such as blogs and behind the scenes videos, ensuring stickiness and long term engagement for these properties. Digital content consumption is on the rise and the challenge for content creators is to be able to customize, curate and present diverse content to users to strengthen their engagement. The solution that UC Browser is offering is “Digitized Entertainment.”
The new UC Browser comes with a simple and clean UI with a homepage that can be customised according to the user’s needs. Users can choose from the various channels to make for a more personalised reading sequence. Adding to this is the new night mode that offers a convenient browsing experience in the dark.
