Move spurred by JioCinema’s free IPL broadcast

Reliance Jio‘s free telecast of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on JioCinema has prompted Bharti Airtel to approach Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) for a one service-one rate system. Airtel has sought a regulatory mechanism prohibiting differential pricing by telecom operators for content on their apps if it is also available on DTH and Cable TV channels

This is wrong. Earlier when Disney+Hotstar used to broadcast IPL for 149 for 3 months and Star channel used to take 19 rupees, then where was this Airtel? Jio has digital rights, they can take as much money as he wants. If Star May had the guts, he would have also shown IPL on Star Utsav Movies. The only danger to Airtel is that in the next year, Jio has made this IPL free only for Jio users and if asked for money from the rest, all the customers will go for jio. If Airtel you also want to compete with Jio then buy rights. This Airtel does not even provide Xstream TV for free to its customers. If you want to compete with Jio, then have the courage to show yourself free. Airtel, you should pay more attention to piercing your coverage than getting trapped in all these traps.

Airtel is just wasting everyone's time.
