The Trump administration in the United States added nine Chinese companies to a blacklist today. Of those nine companies is Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi.

To be clear, this is not the same list to which Trump added Huawei’s name in 2019. That list is related to firms that have supposed ties to the Chinese government directly and forbids US-based firms from working with them. This list is related specifically to the Chinese military. Apparently, the Trump administration thinks Xiaomi’s ties to the military are close enough that it poses a potential threat to the US.

And the best part about this is both Republicans and Democrats agrees about this. Even when Biden steps up ban will likely continue for both Huawei and Xiaomi. Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo etc. should also face same fate.

Only China is getting left out of globalisation. Not other countries. China doesn't need to worry. They will always have a big consumer base in rich African countries, advance Pakistan, rich Eastern European Countries, economic superpower Italy and Greece. :hehe:

Honestly any person from china wishing to create a big MNC should go to out side China and create there. The law passed by CCP like mandatory data sharing with them etc are only making it difficult for them. While that said Chinese cos should take extra care to protect privacy of their customers. Many of them don't even have a bug bouty program or have very low reward for it. This is only making it worse.

Let's hope these investors will get blacklisted soon. Things doesn't look good for them since the pandemic started.
