The folks behind Truecaller, a popular app for identifying and blocking marketers and other spammy phone calls, have launched a new dialer app for Android that makes good use of their existing contacts database. With it, you can look up contact information of the person you're actively calling, even if they aren't in your address book. Spooky? Maybe. Useful? For sure. Once the data has been fetched, you can import that contact to your device painlessly.

Besides that, Truedialer looks like a highly functional and well laid-out phone app. You can swipe between QWERTY and number keyboard, quickly send a text message to folks in the call log, and easily wipe away mistyped phone numbers.

You can get downloading at the Google Play Store. How many of you are using a third-party dialing app on your device? Does the stock dialer app on your phone leave something to be desired?

Truecaller has released a new app for Android
smartphones which is known as Truedialer. It
intends to replace your stock Android dialer
app. The app is available for free on the
Google Play store.
The intention out here is to become a search
engine or a yellow pages for contacts. The app
taps in to Truecaller's vast database of phone
numbers, which basically gives the user
information about the number you are dialing.
Originally, the idea of Truecaller was to provide
its users a means to filter number. But now,
after nailing deals with phonebook providers,
Twitter, Yelp and other third parties, it is trying
to become a search engine for contacts.
The original functionality of Truecaller remains,
which means it still warns you if you are
receiving a call from a known spam number.
However, this functionality only works via the
original Truecaller app.
