Toyota Kirloskar Motor today launched the Land Cruiser Prado facelift. The refreshed SUV is priced at 84.87 lakh rupees (ex-showroom New Delhi).
While the car’s already on sale in other countries, Toyota took its time to introduce it here as it is more of a brand shaping exercise than a volume generating product. To give you an idea, Toyota has sold about 15 units of the car in India this year.
Mechanically, the new Prado remains the same with a 2,982 cc diesel engine producing 173 PS @ 3,400 RPM and 410 Nm @ 1,600-2,800 RPM. The seven seater features a five-speed automatic transmission and comes with an all-time 4WD system.
The model has undergone a serious cosmetic surgery receiving a new grille, bumper, foglamps, LED headlights, stoplight cluster and license plate garnish. Interior enhancements include Crawl Control, Terrain management, Terrain monitor, a new 7-inch display with ‘Optitron Metre’, second row seat heater and tyre pressure sensor.
The Prado comes in five body colors – Silver Metallic, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Dark Blue Metallic, Grey Metallic and Black, along with two interior colors (Flaxen & Black).
Toyota has announced that bookings for the car begin today. The Prado is imported into India via the CBU route.
