Does it have any relation to the story of The Witcher live action series that is currently on Netflix. Or its kind of an untethered spin off?

It's a spin-off of the Witcher, which tells the origin story of Geralt's mentor & fellow witcher Vesemir.

here’s a little more info about the new Witcher characters joining the series:
- TETRA GILCREST is a powerful sorceress who works to keep peace on the Continent by ensuring that magic is not abused
- LUKA is an outspoken witcher and compatriot of Vesemir’s
- DEGLAN is the hardened warrior-leader of the witchers and committed to doing whatever is necessary to protect his “boys”
- LADY ZERBST is a Kaedwen noblewoman who is one of the king’s most trusted advisors, and a fierce supporter of the witchers
- FILAVANDREL (who also appeared in live action in The Witcher Season 1) is a fallen elf king and an old friend to Vesemir
- young VESEMIR grew up as a servant on a nobleman’s estate, yearning to break free of his social standing and to explore the Continent to find his destiny
