Sad News Tata Play Fiber discontinued JioHotstar OTT effective 21 Mar 2025

Under the pretext of citing user recharge hike issues, Tata Play Fiber officially removed JioHotstar OTT ( previously Disney+Hotstar) which was provided as free OTT in Tata play fiber Lite/Prime/Mega OTT bouquet choice from Tata Play Binge platform(s).

Tataplay has removed JioHotstar from its binge platform from all the plans effective from 21st of March.

Now it clicked me, Jio MUST have pressurized the OTT aggregator players to either remove JioHotstar or payback (JIO) hiked price so that indirectly Jio mobile users will flock to recharge with JioHotstar bundle packs of ₹ 100/349/899/949/999 packs

Don't blame Jio bro. Tata Play has a long history of blackmailing broadcasters by removing channels from packs. Now it is IPL time and Jio needs a lot of viewership to earn profit over IPL media rights, Tata Play is just taking advantage of the opportunity and pressurizing JioHotstar. As removal of hotstar will make bad impact on advertisers and Jio never want this.
