GREATER NOIDA — Tata Motors announced its tie up with Korean electronics giant Samsung to offer innovative 'in car smartphone connectivity' solutions for its passenger vehicles.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Unit President Ranjit Yadav at the sidelines of Auto Expo annouced launch of new breed of passenger vehicles, which will hit the market next year.
These will be equipped with Samsung's 'Drive Link Application' on Mirror Link technology helping drivers to navigate, answer calls and access Internet and music on the go.
"This is in our line of philosophy to offer new features to our customers to create differentiated products features that are relevant to the present and scalable for the future”.
He said the company is looking at making the system available to its volume segment cars and not necessarily restrict it only to more expensive vehicles like Safari or Aria.
Tata Motors and Samsung have been working jointly for last six months on this project.

"Samsung is also a mass market brand and this is a good partnership.
This technology will provide connectivity to the user while on drive," Samsung India Electronics Ltd, Head - Business and Enterprise Sameer Garde said.
Drive Link is an application which is designed to use smart phones and tablets while on move.
The feature will also offer on-board diagnostics and vehicle lifestyle management information.
