Tata Docomo to launch video data plan with Yotube, Apalya Technologies

NEW DELHI: Tata Docomo , the unified telecom brand
of Tata Teleservices , has joined hands with Google's
YouTube and Apalya Technologies to launch a video
data plan called "YouTube Recharge" for its 3G
prepaid users. The 3G plan will allow Tata Docomo's
prepaid customers to watch online videos on
YouTube and Apalya's Live TV streaming service for
Rs9.
"With this new product offering, we are the first
service provider in India to enable our users to enjoy
affordable access to a vast repository of premium
and popular video content on YouTube and to live TV
channel content available on Apalya's Mobile TV
service," Gurinder Singh Sandhu, head-marketing
mobility at Tata Teleservices, said on Monday.
With the Rs9 plan, Tata customers will be able to
watch 100 MB worth of videos for 24 hours on
YouTube and Apalya's Live TV streaming service.
Under the Rs19-plan, users will have access to 150
MB with a validity for 3 days, while the Rs39-plan
will offer 300 MB data, which will be valid for seven
