Yesterday, Govt passed GO Where government job exam will have compulsory Tamil Paper'.
For TNPSC Group 1, 2, 2a posts, no changes in Prelims Paper..the same pattern will continue..
But in Mains, Tamil is a qualifying paper where you have to take minimum 40% so that other papers will be corrected.
For Group 3 and 4, Earlier their used to General Tamil/ english 100 questions and General Studies 100 questions..Candidate can take either Tamil or English.
Now, English paper is completely taken out and all have to take General Tamil where we have to take minimum 40% so that General Studies will be considered and this General Tamil marks will be taken for merit as well..
It means General tamil is both qualifying and merit.(it's detrimental for English medium students who relied upon English)
For rest of the govt jobs, Tamil subject is qualifying paper where we need to take 40%
