Swipe has announced a new smartphone, called Swipe Sense, which not only comes with an additional battery but also has a fingerprint sensor. Apple's iPhone 5S was the first phone to come with a fingerprint sensor followed by few Samsung devices.

The Swipe Sense comes with a 5.5 inch IPS touchscreen with qHD resolution. It has a 1.3 GHz quad core processor of unspecified maker. There is decent 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM in the phone. It also comes with the latest Android 4.4.2 aka KitKat operating system. Though it is not mentioned in the product page, reports say that it has an expandable storage slot too, most likely for a maximum 32 GB micro SD card.

The Swipe Sense also has an 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 3.2 megapixel front camera. The phone comes with a 2250 mAh battery fitted inside and a spare battery. The fingerprint sensor lies in its back side just below the LED flash.

Besides, this dual SIM smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0, 3G connectivity, WiFi, GPS, FM radio, and OTG functionality.

Swipe Sense with fingerprint scanner
launched for Rs 9,999

Adding to the long list of sub-Rs 10,000
smartphones in India, Swipe has
launched the all new Sense for Rs
9,999. The highlight of the device is the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner, which has been seen only in high-end premium devices so far.

The Swipe Sense is a dual-SIM (GSM-GSM) smartphone running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. It sports a 5.5-inch qHD IPS display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, and comes powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It features 8GB of onboard storage that is expandable via
a microSD card up to 32GB.

For your photography needs, Swipe packs an 8MP rear shooter with LED flash and a 3.2MP front camera.Connectivity options include Bluetooth,Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS and 3G.Interestingly, this budget device also comes with support for a fingerprint reader, making it the first phone in the
sub-Rs 10k price bracket to come with this technology. However, uses of the fingerprint reader are limited to just protecting the phone. All of this is fuelled by a 2250mAh battery. Swipe has supplied an additional 2250 mAh battery in case the first one wears out.

Announcing the new smartphone,
Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO,
Swipe, said, “Swipe Sense is our latest offering that adds an additional layer of security to the pack of rich multimedia and social media features. And keeping
our tradition of ensuring affordability,we have priced Swipe Sense at an attractive point that makes it absolutely sensible.”
In June, Swipe had launched the

Konnect 5.0 budget smartphone in
India for Rs 8,999. The phone aims to compete with the likes of the Moto E and Micromax Unite 2, which have set the pace in the entry-level smartphone market. However, its specs were less
than ideal and, as a relatively unknown brand, didn’t help it make a mark.
