Few would have expected a tennis player, especially a former champion, to clean up the towels and bottles left by other players on court.
But that's exactly what Roger Federer and his team did after his practice on Thursday night.
After his 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 second round victory over Belgium's Steve Darcis, Federer was out for practice at Flushing Meadows. However, photographs posted online show the courts to be in a disarray when Federer came on to practice, with towels and bottles strewn around.
While it looks like many other ignored the mess and left it to be cleaned up by the staff, the World No. 2 actually picked up the bottles and disposed of them in the bins provided.
Several photographs of Federer and his team cleaning up the US Open practice courts were posted on Twitter, earning him even more online respect.
The same user who posted the photographs also tweeted that the court was used by World No. 1 Novak Djokovic before Federer.
Now isn't that a fabulous gesture from someone called the greatest of all time. Closer to home, wouldn't Federer make a very good ambassador for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan'!
