Hey my OT family, I'm planning to buy a smartphone inbetween 17-18K. Requirements are, small size, 128GB space, better camera, decent battery and fast charging technology.

Samsung M34 and OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is in my mind. More suggestions are welcome.

The only problem will be "Small Size". Small phones are either very cheap with bad specs or good specs above 30k (like Pixel 7a).

Samsung M34 is a good choice. But if that size is OK, then you can consider Moto G54 as well, as I am using one - 12GB/256GB for 16k without offers. Even though both phones (M34 & G54) has 6000mAh battery, Moto comes with 33W fast charger (as well as back case) in box. Battery life is great 3 days for no gaming / heavy use (like me), 2 days for heavy users. Its 5G speed is surprisingly better than my other phone Samsung S21fe (SD 256) and its network coverage and WiFi range is second to none, imho. It has Vo5G for Jio as well. Display & overall performance is very smooth.

It has got IP52 rating and stereo speakers, which is rare in this segment. Other goodies like FM Radio, 3.5mm jack, Hybrid SIM slot are also present, which are all very very rare to see even in > 30k-2L Rs phones. Reg cameras, it is much better than old Moto (like G62 - again a Gem) phones. Even the secondary UW camera has got AutoFocus and Macro option. You can see flipkart reviews for the camera samples. Another important feature I love is Secure Folder. Its implementation is as good as Samsung's in S21fe. Last but not least, it has NO ads or junky bloatware. I think Moto is stupid to sell this phone for this cheap, but who cares, we are just getting bang for the bucks.

It has few drawbacks as well, bad multi-tasking for 12GB RAM phone (go for 8+128GB version, that extra 4GB RAM is as good as useless imho) , bad sw update speeds. But for the price its OK, imho.

If you are getting Nord CE 3 for 17-18k, then go for it. Otherwise go for Moto G84 5G.
Don't buy the Nord CE 3 "Lite". Avoid it at all cost.

which one is best g54 or g84?
Sorry @Prithi Deb I beg to differ.

I have earlier used Moto G62 (with SD 695) and currently using G54 (MTK 7020). Performance of G54 is better than G62 (G84 is again using SD695), especially in loading games like modified PVZ, 120Hz UI, etc..

Advantages of G84 over G54:-
  1. Light weight @ 168g vs G54's 192g vs M34's 208g.
  2. Slightly slimmer @ 7.6mm vs G54's 8.9mm
  3. pOLED vs IPS of G54.
  4. Vegan Leather Finish in Pink and Light Blue versions.
  5. Has something like Samsung's wireless Dex, which G54 lacks.
Advantages of G54 over G84:-
  1. 6000mAh battery over 5000mAh battery of G84 (So the weight and thickness difference)
  2. Has 8GB option, which G84 lacks (12GB is waste if you don't want 256GB storage, thanks to bad RAM management of Moto phones)
  3. Slightly Cheaper @ 16k vs G84's 18k (both 12GB+256GB version) 8+128GB is 14k.
  4. IPS display has no risk of Green line issues like pOLED G84.
  5. MTK 7020 is performing slightly better than SD695. (My personal xp + Benchmarks tell this)
Both are having many common things like Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, FM Radio, IP54 rating (G54 has IP52 - but not much real life difference, imho), Hybrid Slot, Vo5G support, Case + 33W Fast Charger in the box, same cameras (ISP differs, but not much), WiFi 5GHz support, all 5G bands + Vo5G support, Pure Stock Android, bad SW updates, no 4K video recording.

If you want OLED screen and slimmer phone go for G84. But G54 at 192g is NOT over-weight, imho. If you want slightly cheaper phone with extra big battery, go for G54. Both are great phones, no doubt in that.

some sources says Poled display (emitting more blue light) harmful for eyes compared to IPS display? is it true?
