Stuart Binny will travel to Sri Lanka to join the Indian Test team ahead of the second Cricbuzz Cup Test that starts from August 20. India team's media manager Nishant Jeet Arora told Cricbuzz that there are no injury concerns in the Indian team and Binny's inclusion is to give the side an extra option.
Despite taking a 192-run lead, India lost the opening Test after being bowled out for 112 in the second innings to suffer a 63-run loss. The decision to rope in Binny is seen as a move to add depth to the middle order after India's woeful showing in the second essay at Galle.
Murali Vijay, who missed the first Test because of a hamstring injury, is expected to be fit for the second Test. However, there was no update on Shikhar Dhawan, who suffered an injury to his arm after putting down a catch in the first Test.
"All-rounder Stuart Binny will join the Indian Cricket Team before the second match of the three-match Test series in Sri Lanka. The second Test match starts Thursday (August 20, 2015)," stated a BCCI media release.
Binny has represented India in three Tests so far in his career - all against England in 2014 series. He averages 23.60 with the bat and has a Test fifty against his name, which came in his debut game as he helped India draw the Trent Bridge Test. Binny though is yet to pick up a wicket.

Superb news as Binny is very good all-rounder :ohya:tup

Definitely not. Pujara would be appropriate

Players should not be in the team
1. Rohit- Useless in Test
2. Rahul- He need to play more 1st class cricket
3. Aaron- he has good speed but No control over line and length

Players should be called in
1. Raina/jadeja
2. Pujara
3. Shami/Umesh

Agreed wid the 1st part, but not on d 2nd. :s

raina - :skd, one of d most technical skills lacking player, has problems wid short ball... in test matches, wid red swinging ball, he'll just be a guinea pig. :s

Jadeja - has been given enough chances, hasnt proven too much.

pujara -- :k

shami/umesh -- :k

Raina/jadeja play T20 style which is needed to disturb the line and length of opposition main bowler because if you go into defensive mode like we are playing in second innings(1st hour of 4th day I think run rate was around 2.5 though Dhawan and sharma on field) then opposition bowler will jump onto you. So just attack and smash everything which ever comes into your range like Dinesh Chandimal did.
