Former New Zealand skipper Stephen
Fleming has been named as the coach
of the new Pune franchise in the
Indian Premier League (IPL). The team
also has MS Dhoni, who formerly
worked with Fleming for Chennai
Super Kings (CSK).
"I warmly welcome Stephen Fleming as
the chief coach.He has been
remarkably successful as a player in
the international arena and I firmly
believe that his technical knowhow,
perseverance and organisation skills
will work wonders for our team. I have
tremendous faith in his leadership
ability and believe that it would have a
positive impact on our team members,"
said the team owner, Sanjeev Goenka
in a statement.
The Fleming-Dhoni duo were a highly
successful captain-coach combination
in the IPL winning two titles and also
tasted success twice in the Champions
