Stadiums and cities of FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil
STADIUMS
1.Arena Pantanal stadium in Cuiaba has the capacity of 42,968 people. The project cost $210 million and will host four matches of the World Cup group stage 
2.Beira-Rio stadium in in Porto Alegre was built in 1969 but is being reconstructed for the World Cup. The stadium used to have a capacity of 0-,ooo, but after the reconstruction it can only room 56,000
3. The stadium in Sao Paulo is called Arena Corinthians, after the football team that owns it, but the media call it Itaquera as well. The capacity is 48,000, but for the World Cup it will be increased by 17,000
4.Fonte Nova stadium in Salvador was built in 1951. In 2007 the authorities announced it would be rebuilt to have the capacity of 66,000 people
5.The Arena das Dunas in Natal has a capacity of 45,000 people and will host four matches of the group stage
6.The famous Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro has the biggest capacity in South America — 78,000. Before the reconstruction it could room up to 200,000. Four group matches, 1/8 final, 1/4 final and the final will be played here
7. Arena Pernambuco in Recife has a capacity of 46,000 people

9. The stadium in Brasilia was opened in 1974. In 2010 the old stadium was demolished and the construction of a new one was started, with a capacity of 71,000 people
