After recently rolling out comment editing tools and other new features in Instagram , it appears that Facebook is trying to integrate some of Instagram’s features into its main app.

The social media giant seems to be developing a new feature which allows users to see their Instagram notifications within the main Facebook app.

As seen in a screenshot posted on Twitter by Matt Navarra, social media director of The
Next Web website, users can see which of the users that they follow have posted new content. The alert comes as a regular notification pop up on Facebook. A notification at the end says ‘See what they posted,’ which we believe leads users straight inside the Instagram app .

Facebook has not yet confirmed if it’s still testing the feature or is it ready to roll it out to all users.

The company recently confirmed to TechCrunch website that it is in the process of rolling out coloured status backgrounds to all users on Android, iOS and web.

As mentioned by TechCrunch website, Facebook's new feature will allow users select a colour that they can put on the status bar, which for now is only available in White colour.

It has been further mentioned that the new coloured status backgrounds will be visible not just to the users who use them, but also to their friends.

Facebook, besides confirming the rollout, said that only Android app users will be able to post coloured statuses. However, all FB users on Android, iOS and web will be able to see them.
Facebook is also hard at work for improving its standalone Messenger app. The company recently introduced group video-calling functionality in Messenger.
