Sony Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 Compact Android 6.0 Marshmallow update starts rolling out

A month after rolling out Android Marshmallow update for Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and the Z5 Premium last month, Sony Mobile has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 update for its Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. The update is currently live for the Xperia Z2 (D6503 only), Xperia Z3 (D6603 only) and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803 only).

These phones were part of the beta program and the final version of the firmware has the same build number (23.5.A.0.570) as beta.

New features in Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for Sony Xperia devices

Enhanced privacy settings: mange and control your application data permissions.

All new camera interface: switch between modes and customise settings with simple gestures.

Smart battery life: do more for longer, with Doze and App Standby.

Xperia Messaging: express yourself and get creative with easy in-app access to Stickers.

Direct Share: share activity with friends, recent contacts and app lists.

Sony Mobile already confirmed that Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2 Tablet,Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 will get the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update. These are expected to receive the update soon.
