Android 4.2.2 has begun rolling out for the Sony Xperia Z.
The Sony Xperia Z launched back in March and currently still runs on Android 4.1.2, rather than the latest version of Android Jelly Bean (4.2.2). Owners of the smartphone have been waiting patiently for the update to land and it's now begun rolling out !
Sony Xperia Z owners in Austria, Czech Republic and Holland are now enjoying the latest version of Android. Sadly, it's yet to land in the UK , but at least we know that the update is fundamentally ready for release.
As always if your mobile is locked to a specific operator you'll have to wait for your provider to issue the update. Those with a SIM-free version of the Xperia Z should get the update in the next couple of weeks and as soon as we get more news we'll let you know.

Improved home-screen widget management
A host of minor and major bug fixes
Owners of Sony's original waterproof smartphone won't be pleased to hear that Android 4.2.2 has already rolled out on the Xperia ZR. The mobile also has improved waterproofing enabling it to take pictures and record videos underwater.
