Sony today introduced another affordable wireless headset in its MDR range. The Sony MDR-XB50BS wireless headset, at a price of Rs 5,490, is IPX4 splash proof and offers hands-free calling with HD voice support via its built-in microphone. The wireless stereo headset connects via Bluetooth and NFC and claims to offer up to 8.5 hours of music playback time.

The right hand side ear-piece of the Sony MDR-XB50BS comes with the volume rockers keys which doubles up to act as track change button as well. There is another button which offers power on/off, play/pause and call receive/end functionalities.

The headset is primarily aimed at fitness enthusiasts and is designed for a comfortable fit during long hours of cycling, running, etc.

Sony is looking forward to launch its wireless Hi-Resolution NWZ-A35 Walkman in India at a price of Rs 15,990 in November. The Walkman is powered by Digital Noise Cancellation, a 3.1-inch touchscreen display and claims 30 hours of Hi-Res audio battery life.

Sony will also launch the successor of its MDR-100ABN wireless headphones in the form of MDR-1000X. The Noise Cancelling Bluetooth headset is said to be a major upgrade and will arrive in India by October a price of Rs 30,990. It will feature a technology that will allow users to hear ambient sound with just a single tap on any of ear-pieces.

Noise-cancelling headphones usually cuts off the user from the surrounding. With the MDR-1000X, users can listen important announcements with just one tap on the ear-pieces, while having noise cancellation activated on the headphones.
