Sony launches music-centric Xperia E1 and E1 dual starting at Rs 9,490
Has a dedicated Walkman button a la Sony Ericsson phones of old
Sony has launched the Xperia E1, a follow-up to the entry-level Xperia E, which was launched last year. The E1 will be available in single-SIM and dual-SIM configurations, with the former priced at Rs 9,490 and the latter at Rs 10,490. The single-SIM version will go on sale on March 10, followed by the dual-SIM variant, Xperia E1 dual, on March 25. Weighing in at 120 g, the E1 is chunky at 12 mm thickness and will be available in signature Sony colours – black, purple and white.
The E1 has a 4-inch display with WVGA resolution (800×480), which is the norm for this price point. That results in a pixel density of around 233 ppi. The Xperia E1 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and boasts 512 MB RAM. The phones run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, with Sony’s custom UI. Add to that a 1700 mAh battery and Sony’s Stamina mode, and you could be looking at more than day-long battery life. The battery is rated for up to 9 hours of talk time, and 551 hours of standby time.
Looks just like any other Sony phone
