Sony has announced price drops for the
Xperia X and the Xperia Z5 premium smartphones. The price of the Xperia X has been slashed from Rs 48,990 to Rs 38,990. The Xperia Z5 premium got Rs 8,000 price cut, and is now down to Rs 47,990 from a price of Rs 55,990.

The Xperia X has a curved glass display, and is loaded with a battery that lasts for two days. The revised pricing takes the price point below the Samsung Galaxy S7 . The price was on the steep side considering the under-powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor on board.

The Xperia Z5 premium was the world’s first phone released with a 4K Display. It has a 23 MP rear camera, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The phone is waterproof, and comes with a quick charge battery. The battery lasts for two days. Even after the price cut, the device remains in the premium smartphone pricing tier.
