Skype has introduced a number of new features for Valentines Day. The features are available on the latest updated version of Skype across all platforms, including Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android. The Valentine’s Day features are new virtual cards, Mojis and emoticons.
Virtual Cards are digital versions of physical greeting cards. The Valentine’s Day card allows users to record a video message, with augmented reality overlays of floating hearts. The video can be sent on Skype to the intended user, but Skype has added the capability of sharing the video elsewhere as well. The video card, once generated by Skype, can be shared on Facebook, email or other social networks. The Valentine’s Day virtual cards can be recorded in portrait or landscape orientations.
Mojis are short video clips that can be directly shared in Skype chat. For Valentine’s Day, Skype has created a number of Mojis in partership with Rogue Octopus . These are meant to be unpacked like gifts, and show the stories of two characters in various stages of love, accompanied with a track by one of the talented artists of Rogue Octopus. The feature has begun to roll out, and users can send Mojis by tapping the red heart by the picker.
