In my apartment in Chennai, there is a choice of ACT (Ethernet) or Airtel (Optical Fiber).

I am interested in ACT 150 Mbps plan for INR 845.

Might choose this plan over Airtel 100 Mbps plan for (INR 799 + 18% GST = INR 943) if the ACT's INR 845 plan includes the 18% GST (i.e. INR 716 + 18% GST = INR 845).

Looking for standalone internet plans only.
Not looking for any bundled plans (OTT or IPTV).
Payment Method will be mostly UPI or Net Banking or Debit Card, not Credit Card.

1) Do ACT Fibernet plans in Chennai include GST in the advertised price?

2) Will ACT Fibernet convert the existing Ethernet wiring to Optical Fiber?

3) If yes, does the ACT's ONT allow Bridge Mode to use own router?

4) How is the routing, ping/latency of ACT compared to Airtel?

5) Does ACT cut off the bandwidth exactly at 150 Mbps or does it overprovision slightly?

6) Does ACT provide Prepaid option?

7) Does ACT Internet remain connected upon power cut (assuming Router and ONT are powered via UPS)?

ACT have prepaid with Netflix offer for 6 moths advance retail plan with Hotstar, Zee5 & Sunnxt, Now a days ACT provides fiber till inside of our flat, but they provide Ethernet cable from box at apartment base to our flat in some cases, ACT have not hard capped speeds like Airtel.

This is the only reason why i did port from ACT. They will have a backup for 3-4 hours based on battary capacity. Beyond that it wont work.

If you have box installed in home and if you provide inverter supply to it. it will work without issues.

Speedwise no issues. ping no issues. ott slightly inferior than airtel. my personal opinion if going for 100mbps. airtel 899 might be a better choice if you use airtel axis card/ use dth.

ACT is best compared to Airtel though iam from Tirupati.
U can use your own router without any issues, but in router settings u should select ppoee connection and give username password provided by act.
Airtel internet is also good but if issue comes they will show the hell.Never respond and automatically they will postpone the dates with out any reason,in my case when I complaint about internet is down they kept on postponing the dates till even 10 days. So I disconnected.
When you want to disconnect the real movie starts, they will scratch you from top to bottom to stop the disconnection.
It's the worst company when it comes to customer care service.

It is easy to install airtel but it is a hell to disconnect

845 plan doesn't include gst but if u take 6 months plan u will get additional 2 months if u don't opt for their router, effectively it will be 750/month including GST.
If the act service is good in ur area blindly u can go for act over airtel

If airtel cables are deployed underground in your location means go with airtel. Performance wise both ACT and airtel are almost same. In airtel you get better customer care support than ACT in case of any complaints. As far as bridge mode airtel allows it but you have to make them enable it.
