There was double delight in store for
Sania Mirza and her doubles partner
Martina Hingis on Saturday, as they
entered the finals of WTA Finals and
also grabbed the WTA Year-End No.1
ranking.
The Indo-Swiss pair has won eight title
this year, which includes two grand
slams - Wimbledon and US Open. Sania
and Martina started playing in doubles
together at the BNP Paribas Open and
have had great success on the court.
"This is something we've worked
towards especially in the later part of
the year. When we first teamed up, we
were testing it out. But when we
started doing well, we realised that we
could do some great things together
and it became one of our goals to end
the year No.1, so we're really happy to
have achieved that," Sania Mirza was
quoted as saying to WTA's official
website. Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis secure WTA Year-End No 1 ranking
